The best place around Smith Mountain Lake for good food and friendly service. Always excellent. Great breakfast, lunch and dinner menu.
Decently priced and well-prepared meal (I had the meatloaf. However, the staff was erratic, namely our server—a woman in glasses with long hair—who seemed like she was in over head. The restaurant only had two tables at the time.
Very good food, even he buffet is nice. Can be a bit crowded at times.
Old oak Cafe is a warm and comfortable environment. The menu is diverse. The other day I had a special called the Chesapeake Benedict. It was a crab cake with a poached egg and hollandaise sauce. It literally blew me away. There is a full salad bar. Really what else can you possibly ask for!? Amazing staff and reasonably priced food at the lake!
How did I miss this place, it has been open now for several years, but I have just found it. I like eating here for lunch, my fav is salmon salad. Good place to eat, west lake has some good places to eat, this would be as good as any of the others.
Overall, good food, clean place, but with (at least one) unprepared and unprofessional staff member. That said, I still prefer to spend my money locally, so my hope is others have a better experience.
I'd give the place 4 stars, but our server ran my card for a different receipt than the one she delivered to our table, without even consulting me or mentioning the extra charges.
